Kara Matthews and Tommy Lee have been living at Calleya for the past two years and were looking for somewhere permanent that offered a similar but even better lifestyle.
“We’ve enjoyed living at Calleya and looked at the few lots left there but none of them really suited us and we considered other locations to build but there weren’t any that we considered had a very appealing location,” Kara said.
“When we drove into the Kara estate we joked that the name of it is an omen! We are meant to live here.”
Kara said their decision was also made easy given the fantastic location, close to the freeway, shops and schools and the natural environment surrounding it is very appealing.
“We love the fact that there are lots of parks but also the natural bushland around the estate will be retained, it won’t be all high density housing.”
The couple, originally from the UK, are both teachers and excited about building a new home and hopefully moving in with their three-year-old son by around Christmas next year.
“It’s the perfect place for us as a young family and there’s plenty of space to ride our bikes around and it’s centrally located near public transport so that we can catch the train into the city or other parts of Perth.
“We’re very excited about moving to Kara and when we saw the name of the estate we thought – we just have to build here!”
